Veterans Pension Benefits

The Veterans Aid & Attendance benefit is perhaps the most misunderstood and underutilized resource available to help millions of veterans and their families pay for care. Sometimes you would think the benefit is a “secret” so few people know about it and utilize it. I want to make sure that our brave men and women who served in our armed forces, many veterans (and their families) are aware that they could be eligible, even if they did not directly retire from the military or suffer injuries in the line of duty for help covering:

  • In Home Care
  • Adult Daily Care
  • Senior Housing Care
  • Assisted Living Care
  • Nursing Home Care & More

Wouldn’t you like $2,120 per month in tax free income from the VA for your or your spouse’s service?

Will you qualify for any of the Veterans Pension Benefits?

To Qualify the Veteran Must Have…

  1. 90 Days of active duty
  2. 1 day of service during a qualifying war time period
  3. Honorable discharge
  4. Certain medical needs
  5. Specific income and asset levels

Maximum Monthly Benefit (adjusted upward annually)

Qualifying War Periods:

12/07/1941 - 12/31/1946

06/02/1950 - 01/31/1955

08/05/1964 - 05/07/1975 (in country from 12/28/61)

08/02/1990 - to a future date set by law

Unfortunately, many of the eligible beneficiaries are initially denied these benefits when a claim is filed. Applicants should be aware that the decisions for these claims can be appealed by veterans and their eligible family members. Many veterans are improperly told they don’t qualify when they can with proper planning. Let us help you properly create a plan to qualify for benefits. The Department of Veterans Affairs benefits claims and appeals process can be complicated.  If a veteran or a veteran’s family members have received a denial of benefits to which they believe they are entitled, it is in their best interest to contact my firm who is familiar with veteran benefits to assist them with the application and appeals process, or call us before you apply to review you options.

Even if you are not financially eligible we can help you become eligible with the right planning to preserve your assets and qualify for additional cash assistance. With our knowledge of the law we can help reduce your out of pocket costs, defray the costs of long term care, and preserve your resources.
